I’m not ever one to complain or even leave a bad review but I felt it was important to share for future patients, If any type of negligence happens to you while you’re in the hospital if a treatment is done wrong they will not care! by they I mean nurse leaders, I’m not talking about the nurses cause they are kind. I’m talking about the nurse leaders who you’re supposed to contact if something serious happens or you need help. There should be patient advocates which are in most hospital but not this one, who are there to support you and be on your side if something serious happens or any concerns you might have, but there isn’t any according to the nurse leaders. Because of a hospital budget? They don’t prioritize patients and their safety to save money which is insane. In February I was in the hospital for 2 weeks, I felt something went wrong in a treatment where dialysis is done in the hospital because of extreme symptoms I had during and after, I felt this could have taken my life! and indeed there it was based off my blood results before and after which my doctor seen and was the only one concerned. Unfortunately there’s so much my doctor can do but he did share this with my other doctors. So I was doing better before that treatment and then I became very weak after it so weak I needed to have a transfusion twice! the nurses and doctors did their job healing me back. But there was no support no one came to talk to me about what went wrong during that procedure the nurse leaders acting really weird around me I was told someone higher up would come talk to me and no one ever did, a staff member told me they had held a meeting about me but didn’t talk to me about it ? Which is so odd. During my stay I couldn’t just focus on healing and getting better I was so stressed because of what happened to me and the nurse leaders not caring. When you first get there they act so nice like you will receive their support but when something serious happens that is not the case. So you’re on your own if something does. I was discharged almost 3 weeks ago no one ever contacted me.

Stay Away! Sure they talk nicely but don’t listen! Ask a question—they’re unable/unwilling to answer. Guess they teach you to just stare at the patient. It’s as though nobody knows or everybody’s been given the script or behavioral response. Repeatedly told them the medicines I take at home and rightfully expected to take while hospitalized. Doesn’t happen. I’m in agony and they’re telling jokes outside my room. Fully half or more have zero knowledge how to start an IV. The nurse refused to get the vein finder. Should I be expected to struggle out to the nursing station to be seen? Their phone must be for chatting with friends because they certainly do use them to help anyone. Dear Lord, may I never come back!

If you have the option, please go to a different hospital. Some of the nurses are great, but that’s about it. This hospital very clearly runs under a very jaded system. There’s a chance you will leave with the same exact issue you came in with (and still have 0 answer as to what the problem is), even though they made you stay for 5 days and ordered a bunch of unnecessary tests (and didn’t explain what any of the tests were for until day 3). It is quite obvious that they utilize the “run up the bill as much as possible” approach. It seems that they especially try to take advantage of vulnerable populations assuming that they won’t have the resources to fight it. There’s a chance that they will tell you that you’ll be discharged and then keep pushing that back, even though the nurses and generalist doctor have no clue why. When asked if you can just leave since everything is fine and the doctors all cleared for release, they’ll tell you that if you leave (even under these circumstances, not against medical advice) you won’t be given any follow-up instructions or appointments or prescriptions and your insurance won’t reimburse you. I’d much rather have had a conversation with a higher up instead of post a silly review, but every time I asked directly for somebody to contact, I was given a roundabout “oh I’ll share your concerns with my supervisor” answer. I will be disputing these nonsense charges and I warn everyone else to avoid this place if possible.

This has to be the worst hospital I’ve taken my fiancé to! From the slow check in the emergency room while she’s is pain to the doctor forgetting about her in the room and never put in the request for the medication in the system. After hitting the nurses button on the remote we were told to wait a bit and 20 minutes later nobody came. I heard the entire emergency room staff laughing. I open the blinds to see one of the nurses giving the doctor a shoulder massage. This hospital, nurses, and doctors do not care about the patients at all. We’ve been waiting here in the results waiting room (pic attached) for more than 4 hours without any answers. Worst of it is that we are the only people here! NEVER COMING BACK HERE! Take the longer trip to winter park where they go actually care for the patient

I have been waiting for a room now 24 hours. Every time anyone comes to check on me it’s cause I been ringing the bell for a few while. This has to be the worst experience ever. They have not gave me food and when they finally did it was full of mold. They don’t have doctors on the floor even if you are feeling sick they tell you to wait all they can do is check vitals. It’s sad that I’m pregnant and in going through this. I will post pictures of the mold food as soon as I file a report with the state. Do not come here go to a different place to get care you will end up more sick than what you came.

We had a horrible experience. My son came from a nearby surgical center post surgery. They needed to observe him for a few hours so they took him in the ER. He just had surgery on his head which had a 3 week recovery period. I, his mom, had a pain prescription in hand. I had his Dr (with admitting rights) on the phone saying give him pain medication and they refused. They needed to get permission from the hospital admitting Dr. They said he was called multiple times. After 5 hours of no pain medication in his system 8 hours AFTER SURGERY they realized they had called the wrong number. I took notes at the surgical center thankfully because no one seemed to have the correct info on what was going on with my son so I filled them in. It was a very slow night in the ER.I learned all about the recent social outings and upcoming holiday plans of the staff as they chatted because it was so quiet. Once he was in the hospital they were way behind the pain and could not catch up with it until the next day. I could not spend the night per Covid rules. There were certain care protocols for his post surgery care, but each time thy had to be followed the nurse had to run 10 minutes to another wing to get the materials. It was simple stuff like gauze, cleaners, a urinal. Why didn’t they keep any materials in their wing. Nurses are so busy why make they spend so much time going to other wings. I came back the next morning. They had ordered a completely unrelated test. I questioned the Dr who was about to move forward with the test. She stopped and read the chart and realized it must be a mistake. She cancelled the test. If you have to go to this hospital take notes, double check everything, get names, question them on why they are each step. Never leave your loved one alone! I sent a letter to the hospital and ER and never heard back. 3 years later- This review popped up and I noticed a reply from the hospital giving me an email to contact. Is funny, I sent a copy of this to my original doctor, to the surgical center, to the ER, and to the guest relations people at the hospital with no response to this day. But I put something on social media where others could see and they want me to contact them. They have all of my info and could have contacted me, but my emails were seemingly ignored. FYI I have not done tons of Google reviews, but every one I have done has been 5 stars. This is my only 1 star. I shared my experience with a nurse friend who works in a Winter Park hospital and she said this hospital has a poor reputation among the healthcare community. I’m sure there are plenty of good people who work there, but I will not choose this location again, even after 3 years.

Worst experience. I was never brought inside. All the “care” I received was in the emergency room. They had chairs with numbers and that number was your “room/bed”. I had an IV put on on the emergency room like many other people. I was weak, vomiting, high blood pressure, chest pain, headaches, all I wanted was to lay down but no bed for me only an uncomfortable chair. The doctors were coming to see the patients in the emergency room and you could hear all about it. Their personal information, names, date of births, past medical history, their symptoms etc… I never saw the supervising doctor only the resident and I think they confused me with another Patient since another person took my chair while I was doing x-rays. She had same symptoms as me. Then on my papers says the doctor Andrew Little DO saw me and talked to me and that is FALSE! I saw him talking to other patients but not me. On my papers says I was not vomiting and I was vomiting a lot. I have so many things to complain about my visit. I’m so mad I was taken to this hospital. No one discussed the results with me and I was discharged dehydrated, weak, vomiting and my guess is I had a virus that’s my guess because no one told me. What a waste of time. And yeah they happily are going to bill my insurance for the mediocre service I received. Like a third world country care and maybe that would be better treatment than the one I received.

The treatment in the hospital is terrible. Patients are grossly mismanaged at least my aunt was. I know this because I am a doctor myself. They do not follow protocols, they do not assess or evaluate patients, they do not counsel the patient’s family. Neither do they take suggestions nor do they inform or update or tell them the plan of action. They barely come out to meet the family also. They don’t even talk to other doctors from the patient’s family even when requested as a professional courtesy. I would not be this upset if they were at least treating the patient adequately. It is frustrating to know how the patient is not getting the right treatment and yet not be able to do anything about it. So a follow up on the situation….my aunt was prescribed the lousiest possible medication post discharge. I was mortified with the medicines because they are literally of no use and in-fact when I spoke to my seniors and consultants about the situation, they laughed and asked me to dump those medicines in the bin. We got her back to India, and after detailed evaluation she was found to have adrenal insufficiency which I had suspected from the beginning and had informed the hospital doctor through my cousin to check for when she was admitted, but I was ignored. The sorry state of the establishment is such that neither the physician nor the nephrologist have any understanding of the subject. Hyponatremia i.e. low levels of sodium is one thing that can be managed so neatly and so adequately but I am annoyed to see that it was so screwed up. Nevertheless by God’s grace my aunt is safe and sound, recovering well after she was started on steroids in India.

My mother experienced a very unprofessional nurse and the assistant manager can be rude to your but you can’t do the same. The worst hospital ever. They keep recruiting nurses who are there for the money no compassion and the manager has a power trip that thinks that she can tell people how to act and lecture. Lost a patient for being a nasty Karen. And a nurse called Jessica you know who you are, lying with your little report so you can cover yourself to avoid facing the music, Do your job is that so hard to ask? Which brings me to the fact that you are also racist.

Be careful working for AdventHealth east Orlando, I work there before and one of the supervisor name Felix Cruz at the lab department borrowed 1000 for a car down payment he couldn’t make it to go to work because he didn’t have a car , since June 2022 , still waiting to get my money back. I contacted his supervisor and and Felix Cruz Still working there like nothing happened, I am a single mom of 5 kids and 4 grandchildren. , I got pictures of the money transfer, proof trying to get paid, I need to talk to the one in charge, they can’t have people working like that , in a environment where is sick people are, we are there to help others get better, not take money or advantage of your employees. Trust me Today was and employee tomorrow he will start stealing from the patients. I just want my 1000 dollars back
HONORABLE MENTION #2 – Neil Puri July 2023
This has to be one of the worst hospitals I have seen in Orlando. My father-in-law was admitted into this hospital for X amount of reasons. He was there from Thursday to the following Wednesday and would you believe that the nurses forgot to feed him multiple times. They’re releasing him with no treatment. They’re just telling him to follow up with his primary doctor. So why did you guys keep them there for nearly a week? Was it just to rack up bills? What boggles my mind is, how do you forget to feed your patients? There was a lady in the elevator with me, and she said the same thing was happening to her. Loved one. Do not go to this hospital, if you have an issue, try to go to either Dr. Phillips or Orlando regional in downtown. I do have to say AdventHealth in Winter Park was phenomenal.

My mother was admitted on August 30. When we finally got a hold of her on September 11 she was unresponsive. The nurses here have no compassion they let my mother starve for 11 days. She was dehydrated and hungry. My mother was abused and neglected by the whole staff in ICU. My mother woke up September 11 but died yesterday. While my Family was grieving with our loved ones. We were getting taunted by the staff. They were looking in the room watching us say goodbye to our mom. We were the only ones going through this. They stereotyped my brother while he was crying on my mom‘s bed saying his goodbyes they told him to come outside to search his book bag because they thought he had weapons. When they searched his book bag he was clean. They made him search it twice. He lost time with his mother to prove that he wasn’t committing crimes. All we Wanted to do was say our goodbyes. They only gave us an hour until we caught the head charge nurse because other families were getting four hours. We were treated unfairly. These nurses and doctors have no compassion. They do not care about us the people. I advise you not to take your love ones here there’s a 99% chance they will not come out. We will keep fighting for justice because our lives matter. #JUSTICEFORRAMONA
