My little brother was brought to Jackson Memorial after he was attacked at a concert. My mother and I found out early in the morning and rushed over. They let us in to see him. He said he felt fine. Then the doctor came in telling him he shouldn’t be able to even sit up because they thought he had a spinal fracture. And when he told the doctor he felt fine, the doctor said he should be in pain and shouldn’t even physically be able to sit up, then ushered me and my mother out of the room. They then told my mother and I that they were going to put a “Halo” on my brother. Us not knowing what that was, and being naive enough to trust American doctors, trusted them and waited in the waiting room. Little did we know, they were strapping him down on a hospital bed so he couldn’t move and getting ready to drill 4 holes in his skull. Then, another doctor looked at his x-ray and saw that he obviously did not have a recent spinal damage, but a defect from birth, explaining why he could sit up. My brother was then given an obscene bill, which he is still paying off to this day. If it was up to me, I would have hired a lawyer to get justice against these scumbags. Years later, he is still paying off the enormous bill they gave him after misdiagnosing him and torturing him for hours.

BE CAREFUL USING THE RESTOOOM walk around with your own roll and wipes!! Went to visit my mother and went to the nearest bathroom. I dropped the roll by accident and when it fell I noticed the opposite side facing the wall HAD BLOOD ON IT clearly from needles!! This was so scary!! I showed this picture to the Security on duty and it’s like she didn’t even care. She didn’t even get up. This is very alarming be careful guys. Obviously someone is trying to spread something and cause others harm

Fifteen years ago, my handsome son was born. My entire hospital experience was terrible from beginning to end. I arrived in extreme pain, nauseous, dizzy, tired, barely being able to stand up straight, and with both hands around my huge belly with no assistance in sight, neglected by the staff. After what felt like an eternity, a nurse appeared, providing paperwork before moving me to the delivery room. I then experienced more delay, and when my body couldn’t take any longer, I vomited all over the floor. Only then did the nurse decide it was time to move me to a room, where I encountered a Chinese doctor who made inappropriate remarks during the birth process. Despite all this, when we were discharged from the hospital ready to leave , the nurse hesitated to release my baby, sending my husband back and forth to the car for various documents. After several frustrating exchanges at the front desk, only then did one of the office staff hand over my baby, declaring, “This is her baby, she gave birth to him. ” We departed with our baby, and as a consequence of the difficult labor, I now suffer from a visible and permanent hemorrhoid. My son, a teenage athlete who plays football and track, is in excellent health and also excels academically, We couldn’t be more proud. – Fools do not understand, that though the wicked spring up like grass and all evildoers flourish, they will be destroyed forever. The emergency room at this hospital is a complete disaster. It is extremely over crowded and the service is terrible. I never made it inside because after waiting a couple of hours to be seen and seeing what was happening I ran away as fast as I could. There was a man coughing up flegm all over the place and literally crying because no one was calling him in , also a woman in a wheelchair chair vomited on the floor and the floor was not cleaned up, instead they threw a blanket over it to cover it. Then a fight also broke out right in front of me over a charging station, a man moved a woman’s phone and then with all reason the woman called him out and the man started getting aggressive to the point they had to call security and security called the police. This was a total nightmare. I suggest you don’t come here if you are dealing with serious symptoms because they will easily leave you out there to die. The waiting area is huge and even then there weren’t any empty seats.

This hospital isn’t even worth the one star. Friend got there at 3am. Just left at 7pm. No answers that she needed and only saw the doctor twice the whole time we were there. The nurses on night shift were absolutely amazing. They took great care of our friend. The nurse for day shift is an actual joke. Stayed on her phone and chitchatting more than taking care of anyone. Do not recommend this hospital at all.

Not even worth one star. I was transported from Airport here with RSV and what a disgusting place. Blood everywhere not cleaned up, on blankets, floor, bed, terrible floor nurse care. No good duty, finally after 24 hours of a room wait I discharged myself and found a way back North by a driver to my own home town to continue treatment. I found my IV bags never were even hooked up laying on the counter…convicts coming in and out…sharing same bathroom which was so disgustingly dirty. I feel sorry for anyone ever having to use this facility. So glad I made the decision to dismiss myself. OMG.

The lady at the front desk west wing name Katerin Gomez (security) treatment of black visitors is Grotesque and outrageous! We had a family member in ICU dying and she refused to let us go up together and pray for her! While we seen latinos go up by the dozen! She treated us like criminals and called extra security on us! She has no compassion no empathy for blacks familys of dying patients!

Im shocked are we even in America? This hospital and the waiting room is the worst I have ever seen in my whole life. They treat people like cattle not like they’re sick. I been here in the waiting room over 5 hours with a broken infected leg. And no one is telling me anything or offering me any medicine. What kind of hospital is this? I wouldn’t come here but they’re the only hospital with a trauma department within miles and I have no other choice. I hope the owner of the hospital gets what’s coming for him for allowing this hospital emergency room to be so poorly managed. Please someone help me 😭😭😭

HONORABLE MENTION #1 – Lynn Justice December 2023

This afternoon, I was accompanied by my loved ones at the west wing. The front desk agent by the name of Katherine Gomez was really rude, and unprofessional. My family and I wanted to see our love one before her final transition and she stated that only two people are allowed to come in which is fine, but that should apply to everyone else which it didn’t. When we questioned it, she immediately became loud and rude for no reason. Mind you prior to that afternoon, my family and I were already in the room praying and I just step out the room for a minute just to go downstairs and meet both my sister and brother law who came from out of town to assist them on where to go. She stated that the head nurse who was in charge during that time was complaining about our family and said that there’s too many people in the room and the security was called and had to lock the waiting room on the 8th floor which was incorrect. When two of us got up there and explained the situation the head nurse, then call the young lady downstairs to let us come in and say our fair well with no hesitation. Mind you when all this was going on, I seen her let other individuals go in with two and more people with no hesitation but we were asked to stop and turned in our badge and wait.

We arrived to the hospital and waited five hours to be helped. All they did was put my mom on a bed and thats it. A doctor said he would order a cat scan and that took 2 hours and it never came while my mom was waiting we are overhearing the nurses and doctors having chats and laughing also talking bad about the patients there helping which is ridiculous. We are going to a better hospital tomorrow and if we found something that could’ve impacted my mother we will be filing a lawsuit against this place. This is the worst hospital ever and if you were on the verge of dying you rather just stay home and embrace death. I wish could put 0 stars

I had C section done in this hospital, and this review specifically for hospital staff, nurses in particularly. Because my doctor is the best, he was the only reason I was in that hospital. My doctor is Dana Homer. Since I have something to compare , because I’ve experienced better service in different hospital I can point everything what they’re doing wrong. 1) nurses are lazy and rude , zero compassion to newly moms. They’re so tired or maybe underpaid ( which is not my problem) They don’t communicate, lazy even smile a bit. I’m the easiest client you ever meet, I am nice even you’re rude, since I work in client service myself, I can call out someone who’s just not professional and lazy. After my surgery literally 6 hours, I was still in bed bleeding , still hooked with IV. My blood level was low at this time. My husband called nurse to help change baby’s diaper , where she told us (Angela name of the nurse) that “mama can do it herself” But no one told me that I can get up , they didn’t show me or give me my hygiene stuff, they were somewhere in the corner of the room. Well I’m still in bed. You’d think I got bad luck getting 1 bad nurse… no … all of them were rude. When I was discharged this nurse kept forgetting I need discharge paper. She finally did, and gave 3 pages of paper . That’s it! They’re system is so wrong. With my first baby I was in Memorial regional . when they were discharging me they made sure they had conversation w my husband, how to take care of me after surgery.they prepped food to go so I can eat at home. They had goodie bag with all necessary items. So yeah , whoever leaving 5 stars for having baby there… sorry … you just haven’t seen better service….
