The security surrounded us in the Cafeteria. My Step child has been in the Hospital 10 days she finally was able to fully move around we thought it would be great to go eat, we took her to the Cafeteria to get some food and wasn’t aware that we needed a nurse to be with us, so security was called and surrounded us while hands on the tasers..WHY? Maybe because we were of the darker persuasion. I’ve never seen anything like it in person, the security guy in charge was argumentative so much that a nurse asked him ” Why are you escalating the situation”?. Be very careful when going to this hospital security has real bad attitude problem. They don’t understand that no one had informed us our daughter couldn’t go to the Cafeteria we left when asked with no problem until security became threatening for no apparent reason we can only speculate why they bum rushed us…Black folk please beware, please go elsewhere. We could only assume it was because we were black..It was unnecessary and embarrassing….Reminded me of segregation as if we knew we shouldn’t have been there but we’re going against the grain it felt like old times and old days… We were almost in fear of our lives, it was unreal…Even when my Step daughters nurse arrived we still were escorted to her room while security talked smacked to us..again Why? I DONT KNOW since we were told she just needed a nurse to be with her..

First off, the nurses that tended to my mother were all very compassionate and supportive. Kudos to all the nurses from triage on up. Now, when we talk about “Dr.” Desiree Papas, yes that is her last name, well that’s a whole different story. She was nice at first but throughout the duration of my mom’s treatment, she became cold and dismissive. My mom stayed 3 days and Ms. Papas trotted in saying, “I have good news, you get to go home.” The nurse tending to my mom looked at my mom and my mother looked back at the nurse. My mom said, “What do you mean? I still feel really sick. Can’t I stay just one more day?” Pappas replied, so you don’t want to go home? You’re telling me that you would deprive someone of that bed? There isn’t anything you can’t do for yourself that we are doing for you here.” Well my mom was discharged against her wishes. Mind you, my mom was diagnosed with diverticulitis, a pinpoint perforation on her bowel, low o2 levels, E. Coli and possibly c. diff (which she was never tested for and is contagious). Fast forward, my mom is now in your sister hospital, Methodist Hospital Atascosa. Her perforation has grown from pinpoint to 4mm, she tested positive for c. diff, and her infection has gotten worse. So good job, no excellent job “Dr.” Pappas! Way to hold up to the oath you took as a medical doctor! Pray that my mother doesn’t die from your stupidity and lack of compassion! She is in sepsis because of you. Idk how you sleep with yourself at night.

I went in 8/16/19 to get seen for bleeding while pregnant. Primary provider was Nicole Alday. It was a horrible experience. Waiting for blood took 2 hours and waiting for ultrasound was 2 hours. Since get go she was rude and heartless, ARROGANT stating that she had had 8 miscarriages and that it was totally fine. She came to give me results for discharge , she didn’t tell me how many weeks I was or what was the bleeding due. She stated no heartbeat follow up with your doctor bye. I left in a horrible state of mind. I would not recommend at all!

I had many issues with this place, but also many bright spots in my visit here. Nurses were great, especially Sara. Dr Dix was super nice and caring. I can’t remember the name of the surgeon who visited me, but he was awesome too. This poor review is for “Dr” Serna. If you happen to get him as your GI doctor, I HIGHLY recommend requesting another doctor. He’s extremely rude and entitled. I honestly can’t imagine why someone with his lack of grace would even contemplate being a doctor. I can see why he has such poor reviews on many websites. An absolute disgrace of a man. Thank god for the amazing nursing staff, who were SUPER kind to me after meeting with him.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is a joke. I went in for labor & delivery and they had me as “covid patient” but I was obviously there to give birth. I had papers that showed I was covid free but they still insisted I had covid. Majority of nurses are rude! I would ask a simple question and they would go off. About 5 nurses were nice. I didn’t like the way I was treated during my stay. I wouldn’t recommend going here.

This hospital nursing staff is rude. My daughter delivered her baby there and we would ask them questions about her and they would not let us now anything. I was in the waiting room because her husband was in the room with her. I would have been ok if they would of told me she is ok and she was having her baby already. It turned out that they gave her the medication to early and when it was time to have the baby the medication wore out. How stupid can the doctor be I would not recommend this hospital.

This has to be by far the WORST hospital in san antonio, no sympathy for the visitors/ guests , I understand 1 visitor at a time it is 37° outside their computers went down, and they made everyone including the elderly the handicap which were shivering wait outside ,no explanation whatsoever, after 45 minutes waiting outside they allowed visitors in and were very rude , Next day I show up and there is a visitor in my mom’s room name does not sound familiar and that security guard dismiss me , not even trying to help tells me WAIT OUTSIDE, NO UNDERSTANDING, TOLD him maybe a mistake my mom is alone wait outside with no compassion, cannot wait to get my mother out of here the name has changed but the employees haven’t since it was the metropolitan hospital. The administration has no business running this so called hospital.

I had a great experience in 2015 with an older Male anesthesiologist. Everything went perfect with my labor and delivery. But in 2018 when having my second child, I had the worst experience OF MY LIFE. Literally thought about sueing. So much so that I switched OB this time around for my 3rd child because the experience was traumatizing honestly. I went in to get induced at 37 weeks pregnant after and already horrid high risk pregnancy. They started me on pitocin and well as my contractions started to worsen I went and asked for the epidural. First off, I want to say that with my 1st child I didnt feel the epidural at all but with this one, it was the MOST PAINFUL THING ever. Mind you I have a pretty high pain tolerance (The anesthesiologist looked to be young an inexperienced). Anyways he kept hitting a nerve in my spine that causes half of my body to shake while telling me to “try to stop moving so much” and of course, frustrated me was telling him the movement was involuntary and infact painful. He FINALLY got it “right” and went about his bussiness and ended up leaving. Only to find out he did it wrong and I felt absolutely everything. I was in the worst pain I could ever imagine. The pitocin was making my contraction worst than normal and my body started pushing on it’s own. While a nurse was telling me “dont push so hard, you might tare your cervix” as if I could control what my body was naturally doing. Anyways I kept begging them so bring someone else and pretty much got ignored. So I was honestly ready and prepared to have my child completely natural at that point. Not even caring about it anymore and just wanting to get over the delivery already. (Mind you the nurse was still uping my pitocin while all this was happening) Then when I was 81/2 cm dilated the SAME anesthesiologist comes in pills out my epidural and gives me a new one when I’m half an hour away from having my child. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. WOULD NOT RECCOMEND TO MOMS PLANNING ON HAVING AN EPIDURAL.

The morning nurses were very rude and I got wrongfully diagnosed with something I didn’t even have that counteracted with meds I’m already taking . I already contacted cooperate, My family and I are thinking about suing these two nurses. Note to staff if you don’t like your jobs go major in another field and stop wasting everyone’s time including yourselves.

I do not know how to begin …I’m 40 weeks pregnant 3 cm dilated 2-4 minute contractions . I was scheduled for inducement today at 6:30 am . I showed up babies bag packed all ready to go for them to tell me they have no rooms available . Family members taking time off work to be there . I was pushed back 3 days more . I’m in pain but no water broken yet . This is just horrible !

The Burger King of Emergency Rooms. The staffs main concern is getting you out the door with as little work applied per patient as possible. They are clearly only concerned with the pay they’re getting and the bottom line of the hospital, as I’m sure you can see echoed through out multiple reviews here. You’re but an integer to them and they fully intend to squeeze ever last possible drop of profit out of you that they can. Cash matters more than your care at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital.
